Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crews were provided information regarding the wind speed and direction while responding to the incident location, crews immediately coordinated an exterior evaluation and could not identify any odor, the gas and utility services were disconnected from the residential location, the propane tanks were retrieved a day earlier and there were no underground utilities. The tidal conditions nearby were extremely low and the residential structure had fallen from the foundation footers and was resting on the ground. All utility services were disconnected from the structure.
There were not findings of gas leak at or near the residential location. There were negative gas meter readings from underneath the structure. In many cases, all of the propane tanks were removed earlier. It was requested to notify the Sussex County Building Inspector of the known conditions.
All emergency response crews were authorized to return to their respective stations. This incident was marked unfounded.
