On Tuesday morning, July 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency to assist with establishing a landing zone for incoming aviation.  The landing zone assignment was established near Peninsula Lakes at Starling Blvd and Bay Farm Road.  The incoming aviation unit was Delaware State Police – Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The landing zone was coordinated with the closure of Starling Blvd for the duration of the tasks.
