Illustrated herewith is an incident synopsis of the emergency alerts on Wednesday, July 2nd.

Nature: Alarms - Commercial Structure - Beebe Healthcare (80)
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm situation at the Beebe Healthcare Campus on Long Neck Road. The incident involved an alarm activation for the medical facility and required a facility responder to be present. Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility initiated a response as did Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility. Engine 80 summarized the arrival with a size-up report as being a single story medical arts facility, nothing evident from sides “A”, “B” and “D”. After an interior evaluation all emergency response units were authorized to return.

Nature: Alarms - Unknown Situation (Investigation/call box) - Lingo Creek Apartments
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident identifying a water flow incident. Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility initiated a response. Engine 80 summarized the arrival with a size-up report as being a two-story wood frame apartment complex with nothing evident from sides “A and “B”. After an evaluation and discussion with facility responder all emergency response units were authorized to return.

Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - General/Fire - Surf Board Blvd Pelican Point
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential fire alarm sounding on Surf Board Blvd in the Pelican Point development off Indian Mission Road. It was reported to be general automatic fire alarm in Zone 8 of the residential structure. Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility initiated a response with a nothing evident size-up at arrival. An exterior and interior evaluation was coordinated as well as a discussion with the residential occupant before returning all apparatus.

Nature: Odor (Strange / Unknown) - Fowlers Path Peninsula Lakes
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an odor investigation incident on Fowlers Path in the Peninsula Lakes development. Tower 80 responded from the Oak Orchard facility and assisted the EMS personnel already on scene. An evaluation was coordinated with negative results before units were authorized to return to quarters.

Automatic Crash Notification - Sandy Drive, Oak Orchard West (River Winds)
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic crash notification incident on Sandy Drive in the River Winds development off of Oak Orchard Road. Additional alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Police. It was determined to be a dropped cellular device with all emergency response units being cancelled. Rescue 80 and Engine #80-1 responded to the incident.
