Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd and Ridgewood Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, October 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Ridgewood Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle head-on collision with possible occupant entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments include vehicle stabilization, preparation for vehicle extrication, extrication of driver’s side of vehicle, traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a gray Jeep Wrangler and a red Dodge Journey collided on Long Neck Road at the Ridgewood Road intersection causing entrapment and significant damage to the vehicle. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
