It was reported to be two vehicle collision with one vehicle in the roadway on John J. Williams Highway.  The additional vehicle was located on Sloan Road in the roadway as well.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization and removal from the vehicles if needed, traffic control with the closure of John J. Williams Highway, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a red GMC Canyon was traveling on Sloan Road attempting to enter John J. Williams Highway and was hit by an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe.  Both vehicles suffered front end damage and both vehicle operators were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
