Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics
Location: Indian Mission Rd and Harmon Hill Road, Millsboro, DE 19966
On Saturday, April 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at or near the intersection of Indian Mission Road, Harmons Hill Road, and Phillips Branch Road. It was identified as a four-vehicle collision with potential minor injuries and possible occupant entrapment.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 380-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Fire Police, and the local emergency medical services provider.
Emergency response crew assignment included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as traffic control.
It appears that a gray Toyota attempted to cross Indian Mission Road from Harmons Hill Road onto Phillips Branch Road and was struck by a maroon mini-van traveling north on Indian Mission Road. The Toyota then struck a black Dodge RAM pick up stopped at the stop sign on Phillips Branch Road pushing it into a gray Ford compact car.
The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
The Sussex County Paramedics evaluated all occupants and determined if transportation to nearby medical facilities were warranted.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
