Nature: Fire Prevention Initiative – Lil Long Neckers Soccer Team

On Wednesday, April 17^th, the Fire Prevention Committee of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company initiated a Community Outreach Effort to enhance the awareness of the volunteer fire company as well as fire prevention and fire safety initiative.

Several members of the fire company utilized a surprise visit to the Lil Long Neckers Soccer Team in the Bay City development to enhance this fire prevention initiative and participated in some recreational fun with the soccer players. This effort served multiple purposes including but not limited to enhancing awareness of fire prevention and fire safety as well as promoting that the firefighters are people to and can participate and have fun at community outings as well.

In total numerous smoke detectors were distributed to various adults in attendance.

As some may recall over the years, this specific section of the community has incurred suspicious fire events during the commencement of the spring season.
