Nature: Structure Fire

Location: Next To 25888 Kings Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, July 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire on Kings Lane in the Enchanted Acres development off of Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be shed fire with exposures to the residential structures.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.  The Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Fire Marshall were also alerted for this incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression, evaluation for extensions into the residential structures, and overhaul, salvage, and recovery. 

It appears that a medium sized shed caught fire and spread into nearby decking and brush while causing the residential siding to melt.  There were exposure items with a propane tank and housing units.   There were some family felines that perished in the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
