Nature: Structure Fire

On Saturday evening, May 12, 2018, the Indian River Volunteer (80) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire company were alerted for another emergency incident which was requested by the Lewes Fire Department for a working alarm (structure fire) on Lakewood Drive in the Lockwood Development.

The initial incident requested the Lewes Fire Department to respond and upon arrival of their duty officer it was upgraded to a working structure fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crews were requested to assist the Lewes Fire Department from the manpower.

It appears that this was a detached shed type structure that caught fire and damaged two nearby residential structures from the heat intensity. It appears that the shed structure will be a complete loss.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
