Friday October, 13 2017 @ 17:37 Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious Location: Cannon Rd and Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966
On Friday evening, October 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Cannon Road in the vicinity of Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle incident with the occupant still in the vehicle. Emergency response units from Indian River include Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engines #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency services provider. Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, incident mitigation as well as assistance with patient stabilization if needed. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Cannon Road for the duration of the incident. It appears that a white Nissan sedan was traveling on Cannon Road approaching the sharp curve driving on a rain slick road and lost control and slid into a large ditch striking a telephone pole. The occupant of the vehicle needed assistance with exiting the vehicle. The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating. |
