Nature: Vehicle Accident
Location: John J Williams Hwy and Sloan Road,  Lewes, DE 19958

On Thursday afternoon, July 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Sloan Road.  It was reported to be two vehicles with possibility of one patient.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway when a grey Subara Forester was attempting to turn left onto Sloan Road when it was struck from behind by a black compact car.
The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
