Nature: Harrisburg Fire EXPO

Location: Harrisburg, PA

On Friday, May 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended the Harrisburg Fire EXPO in order to evaluate and develop ideas for equipment and apparatus replacement. Recently, the Indian River VFC appointed a new truck committee after recently completing a Long Range Strategic Plan for apparatus, equipment, and facility information.

Incorporated within the plan is the established and development of an apparatus replacement, emergency reserve fleet, and downsizing initiatives. These initiatives call for the replacement or reserve assignment of four pieces of aging apparatus which include Rescue 80, Engine #80-5, Ladder 80, and Van 80.

The committee has completed its initial assignment for the van replacement and is developing specifications, standards, and recommendation for the other apparatus requests.

Illustrated herewith are photographs of the committee performing their assigned tasks at the Harrisburg FIRE Expo Show.
