Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 34965 Holly Dr., West Bay Park, Lewes, DE 19958

On Sunday afternoon, July 5th, while clearing an earlier fire related incident, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working structure fire on Holly Drive in the West Bay Park area of Angola. It was reported to be a working structure with the exterior of the manufactured home on fire.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Engine #80-3 departing from the Pinewater Farm incident; as well as Engine #80-5 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 77 (Georgetown) from Indian River’s Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments were to assist with fire suppression activities, water supply operations, and scene overhaul.   Firefighters were asked to assist locating the family canine which was located within house in good condition.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
