Nature: MVC – Bicycle

On Wednesday, September 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a bicycle accident on Indian Mission Road and Beaver Dam Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and Lewes EMS, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.  It was reported that a truck hit a person on a bicycle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, traffic control and incident mitigation efforts.  The aviation and additional EMS resources were downgraded.

The incident involved a bicycle and truck collision with one person being transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
