On Sunday morning, September 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation within a residential location on Cove View Road in the Highview development. It was reported that the CO detectors were going off within the residence.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.
Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation, gas meter reading verification which identified concerns. The gas service was secured and shut-off and the house was ventilated. The appropriate utility service provider was notified.
After the evaluations were complete, a discussion with the residential occupant was coordinated and the emergency apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
