Nature: MVC – Pedestrian – Wawa - Long Neck Store

On Saturday, September 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a pedestrian hit by a car in the parking lot of Wawa.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics as well as the Millsboro EMS.  It was reported to be female subject hit by car with possible head injury.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews coordinated a perimeter to secure the incident scene and initiated patient stabilization and assessment pending emergency transport response units.

It appears that a pedestrian was in the parking lot of the convenience store and was struck by a vehicle causing injury.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control assistance within the business complex.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
