Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Residential Structure – Oak Orchard Road

On Thursday afternoon, September 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential location on Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be a Zone 13 & 14 detector activation with living room heat identified.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews arrived and identified a single family residential structure with nothing evident from the exterior structure. The occupants identified that they were changing their batteries.

All emergency response units were authorized to cancel and return to their respective stations.
