Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Commercial Structure - Indian River Station #1

On Wednesday evening, September 2^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial location on Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported to be two fire alarm sounding within the structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River remained at the station as this incident was located at the Indian River’s Main Station in Oak Orchard.

Personnel were within the building and identified a large, single-story commercial structure with the nothing evident from the exterior and interior as visual and audible alarms were sounding. After evaluation, it was identified as faulty devices.

All personnel were authorized to cancel the alarm. 

Immediate replacement devices and updates will be coordinated within the immediate foreseeable future.
