On Friday, August 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for two different incidents of automatic fire alarm and elevator rescues alarm at the new storage facilities on Shore Plaza Boulevard off John J. Williams Highway in Long Neck.

Fire alarm incident response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
This incident was associated general fire alarm testing by contractors performing actual system tests at the respective location. There were other alarms received prior to the expiration of the officer’s call notification on this designated date.

Elevator rescue alarm incident response units included Chief 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
This incident was associated with the contractor testing at the incident location as well.
Under both incidents all emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective location.
