Nature: MVC – Bicycle Struck - John J. Williams Highway

Address: Indian Mission Rd and John J. Williams Hwy., 19966

On Friday evening, August 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a bicycle at Indian Mission Road and John J. Williams Highway.  Additional emergency response units included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.  It was reported that a vehicle hit a bicyclist.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80 who was in the area.

It was reported to a vehicle striking a bicyclist and upon arrival fire company resources it was identified that the bicyclist was up and walking.

No additional fire company emergency response was needed.  The aviation unit was cancelled as well.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
