Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Residential – Merganser Court – Peninsula Lakes

On Friday evening, August 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm in a residential location on Merganser Court in the Peninsula Lakes development off Bay Farm Road.. It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding and not able to make contact with the residence.

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units identified a culinary mishap and cancelled any additional responding fire apparatus.  While present at the incident location, firefighters were able to present children with fire prevention helmets and educational supplies.

All units were authorized to return or remain in quarters.
