Nature: Vehicle Fire – Indian Mission Road – Stonewater Creek

Address: Indian Mission Rd and Waterfront Drive , 19966

On Friday afternoon, August 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Indian Mission Road in the area of Stonewater Creek.  It was reported that the vehicle was smoking and pull off the road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, incident evaluation, mitigation, and assistance with the vehicle occupants.

It appears that a Ford Ranger pick up was traveling on Indian Mission Road and possibly overheated causing a smoke or steam condition.  The vehicle maneuvered to the shoulder of the roadway and was awaiting a tow company.

The Delaware State Fire Police assigned with traffic for the duration of the incident.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
