Nature: Trailer Fire

Location: 24465 Blue Blvd, 19966

On Saturday evening, July 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a trailer fire on Blue Boulevard in the Shawn’s Hide-a-way development off Banks Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Lewes (82) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported be a trailer fire with sparks and flames coming from under the trailer.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as Engine 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 exterior evaluation before commencing with an interior evaluation, located of the utility services, continued with an extensive evaluation, shut off the electric services to the structure, requested the respective utility service provider to the scene and reduced the assignments to apparatus on location and established a cover up assignment.

It appears that a possible electric issue was present which caused the area of concern, the utility service provider was required to respond and the homeowner was apprised of the concerns.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.
