Nature: Friends & Family Day – Harmony United Methodist Church

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company Fire Prevention Cohort was invited to attend the Harmony United Methodist Church – Friends & Family Day to collaborate and increase community awareness and community support with various fire prevention initiatives such as:

• preventing home fires;

• promoting fire safety;

• firefighter awareness;

• community outreach initiatives via education, and

• working smoke detectors.

These activities and events coincide with Indian River’s Community Risk Reduction (CRR) efforts which includes a process to identify and prioritize local risks, followed by the strategic investment of resources to reduce their occurrence and impact. It encompasses programs, actions, and services aimed at preventing or mitigating the loss of life, property, and resources associated with various hazards, including fire and other disasters
