Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Commercial Structure – Shoppes of Long Neck

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has responded to numerous automatic fire alarms (AFAs) at the Lingo Creek Apartments, located at 32980 Shoppes at Long Neck Blvd in Millsboro, DE. These responses range from multi-building residential alarms to specific sprinkler system activations.

On Thursday, June 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm incident at the Lingo Creek Apartments off Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm within the multi-residential structure as a waterflow incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Police.  Additionally, the Delaware State Fire Police responded to assist.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts which identified a water flow condition incident. The water flow situation did not extend into any residential units and the alarm activation within entire building was being mitigated.

The specific incident was evaluated and the management was apprised of the situation and the facility was placed on officer’s call.

All emergency response personnel were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
