Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 24241 Big Oak Lane, 19966

On Thursday morning, June 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical issue involving wires and pole down on Big Oak Lane off Banks Road.  It was reported that a moving truck took down wires and pole in the area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews evaluated the incident and area, verified that the proper utility service provider was notified and turned the incident over to the Delaware State Police and Delaware Electric Cooperative.

It appears that a moving truck was operating in the area and become entangled in the overhead wiring causing the utility pole to break as well.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided assistance where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

The Delaware Electric Cooperative will be coordinating the utility pole replacement and power restoration where needed.
