Nature: Smoke Investigation - Bay Farm Road Area

Location: 26370 Bay Farm Rd, 19966

On Wednesday evening, June 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a smoke investigation concern in the area of Bay Farm Road near the Harris Teeter facility. The caller reported that there was smoke coming from the development behind the store advising a large amount of black smoke from the area.

Emergency response apparatus included Incident Command 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews evaluated and checked the shopping center area, the River Breeze development and then proceeded to the Sherwood Forest development.

After evaluation, it was determined to be a recreational campfire on Steele Drive in the Sherwood Forest development.

The incident was placed under control and all units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
