Nature: Traffic Collision - High Mechanism (motorcycle)

Location: Address: John J Williams Hwy and Holly Lake Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, June 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a traffic accident involving a motorcycle on John J. Williams Highway and Holly Lake Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported to be a vehicle and motorcycle collision at the intersection.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control and overall incident mitigation activities.  The Aviation unit was cancelled as was additional emergency response units.

It appears that a motorcycle and vehicle collided on John J. Williams Highway near Holly Lake Road.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  Traffic patterns were restricted for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
