Nature: MVC – Rollover – Hollymount Road - Harbeson

Early Friday morning, April 3^rd, the Indian River and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident involving a roll-over.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics.  Aviation was down due to weather.  Informational upgrades included entrapment which alerted the Lewes (82) Fire Department for additional resources.  It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover with entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation which identified no vehicle entrapment, occupant was gone from the incident location and only property damage thereafter.  Emergency response units from were downgraded to Indian River units and cancelled if not already on location.

It appears that a vehicle (4-door sedan), possibly Toyota Corolla, was traveling on Hollymount Road and left the roadway for an undetermined reason, overturned and came rest in a wooded area.  The occupant had fled the incident location prior to arrival of emergency response units.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic lane closure of Hollymount Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
