Indian River Volunteer Fire Company Seeks Help to Expand Station #2

Statement from IRVFC President Patrick Miller: "In 2025, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company reached a historic milestone—responding to 607 emergency incidents, the highest call volume in our history and more than a 28% increase since 2023.

This surge is not an anomaly; it reflects sustained population growth across our service area over the past decade. As call volume continues to rise, our ability to deliver rapid, effective emergency response depends on modern infrastructure and staffing designed to meet today’s realities.

"To address this need, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is undertaking a multimillion-dollar expansion of Station 2. This project will strategically place additional fire apparatus in the Long Neck area, significantly reducing response times and improving outcomes for our families, homes, visitors, and businesses."

"Station 1 will remain fully operational, while the expanded Station 2 ensures we maintain the high standard of service our community expects from its all-volunteer fire company.

"I respectfully ask for your support of this critical capital campaign. Your contribution—financial or through volunteer service—directly strengthens public safety and protects lives and property.

"Remaining a fully volunteer fire company depends on donations and volunteers. Please consider a generous donations at https://www.irvfc.com/page/donate-online or volunteering with the Fire Company or Auxiliary by contacting IRVFC President Patrick Miller at https://www.irvfc.com/page/become-a-member

"Together, we can ensure our fire company is prepared not just for today’s emergencies, but for the future of our growing community."
