Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, December 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway east of Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a multi-vehicle accident with the possibility of two persons desirous to be evaluated by EMS personnel.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments include patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a silver Nissan Rogue struck the rear of silver Toyota Tacoma pick-up which then created a chain reaction type event hitting a white Kia Soul which hit a blue Ford Explorer.  All vehicles suffered damage to various extents.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the alteration of the eastbound lanes being detoured for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
