Nature:  Automatic Fire Alarm - Residential Structure

Address: 34006 Anna's Way. Millsboro

On Thursday evening, December 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential structure on Anna's Way in the Pot Nets Bayside development off Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a living room smoke detector activation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation of the residential structure with the commencement of an interior evaluation.  

It was determined that there was a power surge and when restored it caused the fire alarm system to activate.  After resetting the system, it was restored to normal operations. 

All emergency response apparatus was authorized to return to their respective quarters.
