Nature: Santa Visits the Long Neck and surrounding area …
Location: Long Neck – Angola Area
On Tuesday evening, December 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company escorted Santa through guided tours of the following developments: Sherwood Forest, Long Neck Apartments, the Shoppes of Long Neck, Bayshore, the Pines of Long Neck, Walden, Winding Creek and Riverdale.
Santa was on a search to verify his naughty or nice list candidates as well as spreading Cheer and Goodwill to All. Santa was joined by the Indian River Mascot – Patches and the Grinch.
After these neighborhood tours, Santa returns to the North Pole for final preparations for the big day. Santa will be greeted by Mrs. Claus and elves, et. al. doing final safety checks, package checks and everything.
On Christmas Eve, Santa's plan is to fly his sleigh, pulled by reindeer, across the globe to deliver presents to good children, starting his journey after dark, typically between 9 p.m. and midnight, tracking his route via NORAD, and stopping only when kids are asleep, before returning to the North Pole to rest.
Families often prepare by leaving out cookies & milk for him and carrots for the reindeer, creating magical touches like "Santa landing pads," and enjoying festive activities while they await his arrival.
