Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 26319 Portside Lane Rehoboth Shores, DE 19966

On Monday afternoon, December 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident on Portside Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development.  It was reported that the residence recently had gas delivered and now it smells like rotten eggs.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew were required to perform an exterior evaluation of the residential structure as well as commencing with an interior evaluation.  It was identified that the structure did have an odor of gas.  The gas was shut-off and the utility service provider was requested to the incident location.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
