On Saturday evening, December 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was clearing a previously dispatched incident, it was alerted for a commercial structure fire at the American Legion Post #28.  It was reported to be something burning in the dining room. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80, Engine 80 & Squad 80 from the Shoppes of Long Neck facility off Long Neck Road.

Emergency response crew were required to perform an exterior evaluation of the commercial structure and commenced with an interior evaluation focusing on the HVAC and electrical systems. The facility evacuation was underway upon arrival of emergency response apparatus.

The evaluation yielded that the HVAC system was operational and in proper order.  The issue was identified as an electrical light ballast. 

All emergency response apparatus was authorized to return to their respective quarters.
