Nature: Gas Leak (Natural and LP Gases)

On Saturday evening, December 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a purported gas leak at the Shoppes @ Long Neck Blvd.  It was reported to be a loud hissing noise above her doorway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80 & Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew were required to perform an exterior evaluation of the multi-residential facility as well as commencing with an interior evaluation.  It was identified that the facility does not have any gas services or appliances.

The evaluation did not yield any meter readings or any substance leaks.

Emergency response apparatus had to mitigate illegally parked vehicles in the fire lane of the multi-residential facility.  This has been an ongoing issue at this facility with the managerial operations providing absolutely no assistance or mitigation efforts. The information complaint was forwarded to the Office of the Delaware State Fire Marshal as the respective owner was non-compliant with request to relocate the vehicle.
