Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 26188 School Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday evening, December 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in 26000 block of School Lane.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. It was reported to be a two-vehicle accident with at least one patient.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears the vehicles were traversing School Lane and collided for unknown reasons. One patient was transported with minor injuries, while the other refused further evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic with the closure of School Lane until the scene could be cleared.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
