Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector

Location: 26697 Captains Walk Pot Nets Seaside, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, July 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation on Captains Walk in the Pot Nets Seaside development off Long Neck Road. It was reported to be a carbon monoxide detector activation within the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation, checked and monitored meter readings inside the structure and provided further evaluation in the garage area.

After an evaluation, it was suspected to be a golf cart charging problem in the garage area and the home occupant was advised accordingly.  The meter readings verified the garage as the area of concern.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations after discussion with the occupant(s).
