Nature: Duty Crew – Work Detail - Station Cleaning Detail Assignment

Location: Oak Orchard Facility

On Friday, July 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted a specific work detail to coordinate the cleaning and preparation of the hall for the upcoming activities and have an available crew such an emergency situation be dispatched.

Personnel assisted with the hall take down and floor scrubbing of both the dining hall and kitchen area.  Efforts were coordinated to train and instruct personnel with the Rider S floor scrubber and cleaner as well as hot hose and scrub brushes in the kitchen.  As this exercise was completed, the hall was set up for the upcoming Auxiliary Breakfast Event on Sunday.

As personnel completed these tasks, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a commercial structure fire.

Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 18585 Coastal Hwy Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

This incident was later determined to be a “good intent” alarm as it was mistaken for the recreational volcano display behind the Midway Shopping Center.
