Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Prowler Street – Sun Retreats Rehoboth Bay

On Thursday, July 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm involving a commercial structure. It was reported to be a commercial fire alarm with smoke detector activation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.  An additional response was made by the Delaware State Fire Marshall that was in the area.

After an evaluation of the structure and discussion with the appropriate personnel it was determined to be a faulty detector on location.  All apparatus was permitted to return to their respective quarters. Engine 80 did respond to the incident location.  The incident location was placed on officers call based upon the frequency of the AFA incidents at the facility.
