Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector

Location: 34010 Harvard Av Carillon Woods, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, July 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation on Harvard Avenue in the Carillon Woods Apartment Complex off Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be a carbon monoxide detector activation after cleaning the device.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from an earlier incident location in Pot Nets Creekside development off Long Neck Road as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation, checked and monitored meter readings inside the structure.

After an exterior and interior evaluation as well as multiple meter readings with zero readings it was identified to be a faulty detector.  The occupant did change the batteries earlier in the day.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
