On Friday, July 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a golf cart on Yucca Drive in the Pot Nets Seaside development.  It was reported to be  13-year old person hit by a golf cart.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient evaluation, stabilization and observation.

It appears that a younger person was hit by a golf cart approximately 1½ hours prior to the incident alert requesting EMS evaluation.  After the initial arriving first responder units, all other apparatus was cancelled while responding.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
