Nature: Alarms - Commercial Structure - Leisure Point Marina Store (80)
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm involving a commercial structure. The incident involved a fire alarm and smoke detector activation for the Leisure Point Marina Store. Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility initiated a response and was cancelled based upon firefighter on location with nothing evident. Indian River has responded to multiple alerts at this facility of the past week or so.

Nature: Alarms - Commercial Structure - The Peninsula Clubhouse (80)
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm involving a commercial structure. The incident involved a fire alarm activation for the Peninsula Clubhouse. Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility initiated a response and found a water flow incident with a broken sprinkler head in the closet housing the facility's fire pump system. Corrective action was requested the by system's maintenance contactor.

Nature: Elevator / Escalator Rescue - Harvard Av Carillon Woods, DE 19966
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an elevator incident involved a female occupant and her canine. Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard location responded to the incident location and assisted with gaining access and extricating the occupants of the elevator. The elevator was shut-off pending corrective action by the respective elevator repair contactor.

Nature: Fuel Spill – Pot Nets Seaside Marina
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fuel spill involving a vessel in the water. It was reported that during the recent period of inclement weather, the vessel was taking on water and leaking fuel into the marina area. Rescue 80, Utility 80-8 with Marine 1, Brush 80 with Marine 2 responded to the incident location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the DNREC – Marine Police. Units identified a 20’ white, flat bottom, work bottom taking on water with approximately 1 gallon fuel tank leaking The was not an extended sheen on the water, the owner of the vessel was present attempting to keep the boat afloat, After evaluation and offering assistance all emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
