On Friday evening, June 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a Carbon monoxide detector activation on Rudder Road in the Pot Nets Bayside development off Long Neck Road. It was reported to have high readings with the detectors going off.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation, checked and monitored meter readings inside the structure.
After an exterior and interior evaluation as well as multiple meter readings with zero readings it was identified to be a faulty detector. The occupant did make change the batteries the night prior to the activations.
All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
