Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - Smoke detector

On Thursday morning, June 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding on Creek Avenue in the Winding Creek Village development off Banks Road.  It was reported as a residential fire alarm activation inside the structure.

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews completed a complete exterior evaluation and could not identify any operational issues with respect to the residential alarm.  The was not a responder to the residential structure.

All personnel provided an exterior evaluation and requested that the residential location be placed on officer’s call for 24 hours.   All apparatus were cancelled and returned to their respective quarters.
