Nature: Vehicle Accident Involving Motorcyle – John J. Williams Hwy & Holly Lake Road

Location: Holly Lake Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, June 12^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Holly Lake Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Trax and Harley Davidson motorcycle collided at or near the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Holly Lake Road causing the injury to the motorcyclist. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the complete closure of John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
