Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm - Residential Structure

Location: 27045 Firefly Blvd., The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, June 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding on Firefly Blvd in the Peninsula development off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported as residential fire alarm activation was inside the residential structure.

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were notified while responding that there was an activation in the residential structure. 

All personnel provided an exterior and interior evaluation could not ascertain any operable issue associated with the fire alarm system. Additional gas detector monitorings and thermal imaging camera evaluations were also conducted.

After discussion with the homeowner, all apparatus were cancelled and returned to their respective quarters.
