Address:  26909 Holts Landing Rd Dagsboro, DE

On Sunday evening, June 8th, the Indian River (80), Dagsboro (73), Bethany Beach (70) fire companies were alerted to assist the Millville (84) Fire Company with a water rescue incident in the Indian River Bay off of Holts Landing State Park.  It was reported that a jet ski was in the bay with the jet skier waving and water conditions being rough.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-8 with 80 Marine 1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 with 80 Marine 2 and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the DNREC Marine Police and Park Ranger units, and the United States Coast Guard – Indian River Squadron.

Emergency response units from Indian River were directed to the following launch points: (1)  80 Marine 2 was launched from the White House Beach ramp area and (2) 80 Marine 1 was directed to the Pot Nets Bayside ramp area.  All marine units were given specific assignments from the 84 Incident Command with marine units from 70, 80, 84, and 73 underway towards the designated coordinates.

It appears that the designated jet ski was white, blue and black with two persons onboard.  Marine 84 was able to locate the jet ski with one subject in the water and other subject on the jet ski.  Both subjects were retrieved as was the jet ski and returning to the docking area.  Various units assisted the Millville units before being authorized to return to their respective launch points.

All units were accounted for and returned to quarters.
