Original Dispatch:  Outside Fire

Upgraded Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 20440 Forest Rd Milton, DE 19968

Early Tuesday morning, June 3rd, the Milton (85) Fire Department was alerted for an outside fire a couple of houses down  and not certain as to what was going on.  Initial arriving emergency response units from Milton identified a large header of smoke and requested an additional engine company response.  Car 85 (command) arrived on location and identified a residential structure fully involved and requested a box alarm upgrade.

The box alarm upgrade alerted the Lewes (82), Rehoboth Beach (86), Georgetown (77), and Indian River (80) to assist Milton (85) with the working residential structure fire on Forest Road outside of the Harbeson area.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included crews to the manpower pool for assignments, exposure protection, and water supply for apparatus.  Other Crews assisted with fire suppression and saturation efforts as well as extensive overhaul efforts.

There were not any firefighter or civilian injuries.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.   Forest Road was closed between Stockley Road and Cool Spring Road.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
