On Monday, June 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Windswept Drive section of the Peninsula. This incident was an automatic fire alarm sounding within the commercial residential structure.
Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.
After evaluation, all units were cleared and this location placed on officer’s call for 24 hours based upon the continued occurrence of these alarm systems. Efforts to contact the maintenance personnel continue.
Faulty fire alarms, false alarms, and malfunctioning fire alarms are one of the most frustrating issues with fire alarm systems that many fire departments are encountering on a widespread basis. They can occur for various reasons, such as dust, insects, cooking, or cigarette smoke, etc. If there are issues prevalent within your structure, please take corrective action measures with your property management to mitigate these issues.
